2001 Hourglass Cabernet - Why is this NOT in my cellar?
I must be getting lazy in my wine collecting because I just had this wine for the second time tonight and I still have not signed up for their mailing list. If you are not on the Hourglass mailing list then click on this link to signup. I just did a moment ago. The wine is made by Robert Foley who has been making perfect wines for many years. Bob is also the winemaker for Pride Mountain, Robert Foley, Switchback Ridge, School House, Paloma, etc. Bob has been on the radar screen for serious collectors for some time. Don't ignore this wine project! This is one of the best "cult" status wines that I have tasted in a long time. The wine is not easy to come bye but I would start seeking out the 2001 vintage if any is left on the market. I've had the wine at "Da Benito" restaurant in the past so if you are in Union, you can enjoy this wine with outstanding Italian dishes. The wine is 100% Cabernet and the wine to me feels like a cross between the smooth ripe flavors of Colgin and the structure of Harlan Estate. Brian Pasch - April 24, 2006
