2004 Bridesmaid Wine

When I first saw the bottle for the 2004 Bridesmaid it could have been mistaken for a wine producer by Sine Qua Non which creates amusing names, labels and packaging for each wine that they make. The Bridesmaid is not associated with Sine Qua Non but the wine could easily be part of their proud tradition of quality winemaking and 95+ point scores. I loved this wine and have tasted it on two different occasions with the same result. If you like a wine with high fruit weight than this is a "must have" in your wine cellar.

Once again, my friend John Rittmaster turned me on to this wine as I check with him about his remaining allocation. The good news is that he is holding a few cases back for my readers until the end of May. In the glass you would think the wine had some Petit Sirah included because of the rich color and purple edging. This wine will be even better with 1-2 years of aging and will age well for at least 7-10 years. The wine had a wonderful nose and long finish. You could easily drink a whole bottle of this wine without knowing it. Of course you would be reminded twice; once when you saw it was empty and second when you wake of with a fuzzy head in the morning. With the summer grilling season ahead I would buy a case of this wine and serve it up with your favorite grilled meats.

I rate the wine 95 points and I look forward to the next vintage to see if this excellent wine can be reproduced next year.
