2004 Keever Vineyards Cabernet

I reconnected recently with one of the best wine retailers in the county and chatted about what he thought was exciting from California. John Rittmaster from Prima (www.primawine.com) did not delay in speaking the words "Keever Vineyards". Him and his staff felt that this wine was one of the best that they have tasted this year! So I did some research...

The winemaker on the project is the same winemaker involved at Scarecrow Winery; Celia Masyczek. Celia has teamed up with the passionate Keever Family and has made an amazing wine. Here is a quote from their website:

Keever Vineyards is nestled in the western slopes of Yountville, CA in the Napa Valley. We are a family-owned business, producing exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon from our five acres of rocky, hillside vineyards. Keever Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is created through a team effort between our excellent vineyard management company, Barbour Vineyards, our extremely talented consulting winemaker, Celia Masyczek, and our family.

When John raves about a wine people take notice. I have come to trust John's judgment and have ordered a six-pack for my cellar. I suggest that you make an effort to contact John to see if h has any wine left to sell; just visit their website. Also, I recommend that you sign-up on Keever Vineyards mailing list. The current 2004 vintage of the Keever Napa Cabernet is limited to a purchase of 3 bottles per person.
