2004 Stewart Excels For 3rd Year in a Row
The 2004 Stewart Cabernet retails for $62 per bottle as per their website. I rate the wine 95/100 points and I expect that score to rise as the wine matures and fully evolves. The winemaker is Paul Hobbs so you can understand why the Stewart project has had such great success. I encourage readers to join the Stewart mailing list by completing the VIP introduction Form below or by visiting their website at www.stewartcellars.com if your prefer. Stewart Cellars was founded in 2000 by Michael and Anne Stewart of Houston, Texas with a philosophy to consistently produce fabulous Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon from some of the finest vineyards in the Napa and Russian River Valleys. If you can't find the wine locally and if the winery is sold out, you should call John Rittmaster at Prima Wines in California who introduced me to Stewart Cabernet. He normally has a great allocation and can offer the 2004 for sale and while you are speaking with John, ask him what other "hot" new projects from Napa his has in stock. John's recommendations are always spot on. Brian Pasch -February 11, 2008
