Asbury Park Redevelopment - It's Here!

Asbury Park Cookman Avenue CondosI'll be the first to say that writing another article on investing in Asbury Park real estate has the appeal of a day old bagel. However, I'm very excited about a condominium project that is being built as we speak. It is part of the Asbury park Redevelopment story. Investing in Asbury Park is no longer a secret; just take a look at all the construction project and oceanfront development!

The project is called Wesley Grove and it will have 91 Residential Units and one commercial unit. The project is set to be completed in 2007 and has already begun the initial construction phase. (www.wesleygroveasbury.com)

I was introduced to this project from veteran Jersey Shore realtor Laurie Koziol. Laurie is the most knowledgeable realtor for Monmouth County seaside real estate. After looking at the site and the plans, I was convinced that this project will be a great place to live. Since my first introduction, over 40% of the project has been sold in a matter in a few weeks.

If you haven't been to Asbury Park lately, take the trip. The community is growing leaps and bounds with new stores, restaurants and of course new construction. This time, Asbury is in full swing for change and in the coming 1-2 years, this community will represent a great place to live and visit.

There are not many good on-line resources for Asbury Park information and most of the websites are more advertisement-driven like: www.asburypark.net. The Asbury Park City website is located at www.cityofasburypark.com and on the site you will find some visitor information. A somewhat historical but dark interpretation of Asbury Park can be found at: www.drakkar91.com/ap/. This website is not up to date but it does show some cool images of Asbury Park from its rich history.

One famous landmark of Asbury Park that is still standing is the Stone Pony. This grungy bar is the home of New Jersey Rock n' Roll made famous by Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. The first time I visited the bar I was less than impressed but with a live band playing it ends up to be a cool place to hear music. Asbury is full charm and diversity and will be the destination for the hip crowd of the tri-state area when the revitalization is completed.

One of the strongest advocated for Asbury Park has been the Tri-City News and its very vocal owner Dan Jacobson. Dan has single handedly raised the awareness of Asbury Park and the need to fight for the proper redevelopment of this great city. In his writing style Dan holds no punches; he creates controversy daily. This newspaper is an accurate reflection of the passion and intensity that is captured in Asbury Park. Make sure you read this paper if you care about Monmouth County and especially Asbury Park and Red Bank.

Asbury Park Wesley Grove NJSo, back to Wesley Grove: Laurie Koziol is the exclusive agent for the project. If you would like more info on the remaining units that are up for sale, contact Laurie at: 732-869-0600 or 732-728-1000. I'm not a realtor but you have to see this project. Don't kick yourself later. If you call, please mention that you are a friend...there is a large waiting list for this project and any friendly introductions are helpful. There will eventually be two more phases of construction so you have a great selection of living accommodations at Wesley Grove in Asbury Park.
