Yumi Sushi- The best Japanese Restaurant in Monmouth County?

I dined for the first time at Yumi Sushi Restaurant in Sea Bright NJ which is located on the 1120 Ocean Avenue, which is just a few blocks away from the famous Angelica's Restaurant. When I first walked into Yumi I knew that the restaurant was not the average low budget Japanese restaurant. Most of the local Japanese Restaurant leave warmth and ambiance out of the Restaurant design criteria.

Two examples are "Sono Sushi" in Middletown and "Kissui" in Little Silver, both places have decent sushi but have no design appeal to bring you back. It seems that many Japanese owners are not concerned to provide comfortable chairs and an inviting atmosphere; now we have an exception.

Yumi Sushi is far from the norm as their restaurant is highlighted with well chosen lighting, tables and accessories. Yumi Restaurant reminds me of some of the finer Japanese Sushi Restaurants in New York. You get a very "cool" vibe when you enter the darken room. Service was friendly and punctual.

We ordered about 10 different dishes; all of the preparations were excellent. The Tuna Tataki was superb as well as their interpretation of Chicken Soup. The restaurant also has a very busy take-out business so I encourage you to stop in or take-out what I consider the best sushi in Monmouth County that I have tasted to date. I am placing Yumi Sushi on my A+ List for Sea Bright. An added bonus in that the restaurant is BYOB!
