Asbury Park Italian Restaurant

Isabella's Restaurant on 632 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park is a wonderful new eatery in the downtown retailer shopping area. Isabella's has a crisp, clean atmosphere with a non-traditional Italian vibe. The hip look and feel is a perfect contrast to the delicious traditional Italian dishes.

I visited Isabella's for lunch on July 11, 2007 and enjoyed a pasta dish with broccoli rabe and sausage in a light chicken stock broth. The other guests at my table enjoyed their pasta pommodoro, grilled chicken sandwich and grilled shrimp salad. Service was punctual and friendly and the dishes were artfully prepared.

I would plan to revisit Isabella's for dinner to see how the food and service compares to a slower lunch crowd. If they deliver the quality of food that we had at lunch, then I would give the restaurant a very high recommendation.

Dinner Served at Isabella's

The following week I had the chance to get to Isabella's for dinner the the experience just got better. All of the past dishes were wonderfully prepared and the entrees were equally delicious.

My only complaint is that the past dishes are very large so next time I would order a dish to split before my entree or just have the pasta dish as a main course with a salad. Congratulations Isabella's, this is a fine addition to downtown Asbury Park!
